Not Price Gauging

Nigeria Pipeline Blast Kills Up to 200

AP - 51 minutes ago

ILADO, Nigeria - A ruptured gasoline pipeline exploded as villagers collected fuel in a coastal village in southwestern Nigeria Friday, killing up to 200 people and leaving charred bodies scattered around the beach. Grim-faced rescue workers swung corpses into a mass grave as dozens of other bodies awaited collection next to the pipeline. Others dragged bodies across the white sand. It appeared some victims whose bodies lay farther away had tried to flee the unfolding disaster only to be overtaken by flames spreading across the fuel slick.

Alternative to Oil

I wonder how much Oil Companies will pay to make sure this doesn’t happen.  I will guess, if it is evident they will lose billions to a new alternative fuel, it will be worth billions to try to supress it….that is of course unless you think major corporations have what “we” want and need in their best interests, and assuming the same companies are not capitalist i na free market economy…heres a taste

Montana is “sitting on more energy than they have in the Middle East,” Schweitzer told Reuters in an interview this week.

“I am leading this country in this desire and demand to convert coal into gasoline, diesel and aviation fuel. We can do it in Montana for $1 per gallon,” he said.

“We can do it cheaper than importing oil from the sheiks, dictators, rats and crooks that we’re bringing it from right now.”

The governor estimated the cost of producing a barrel of oil through the Fischer-Tropsch method at $32, and said that with its 120 billion tons of coal — a little less than a third of the U.S total — Montana could supply the entire United States with its aviation, gas and diesel fuel for 40 years without creating environmental damage.

Energy Inflation Inflates All

I have heard a lot of people wondering “why aren’t other countries offering us help?”  Well, it seems there is a lack of help, at least being reported.  All I can tell you is that Hugo Chavez of Venezuela is offering us refined gasoline to help America’s poor.  Of course we have to refuse since we have tried to kill him 4 times already (pre-robertson comment), and also, aside from the comment that wasn’t buried made by a German politician that we deserved Katrina becuase we refused to sign onto the Kyoto Treaty, I have heard the Germany is sending us refined gasoline.

Whos Laughing?

Well when the author called for a severe energy spike last thursday, there was no shortage of laughter Friday when oil dipped $1.35.  So went Katrina and the weekend…Oil had it’s biggest one day move ever, up 4$ at one point on Monday morning before US markets even opened.  Natural gas spikes 18% in one day, I may have to re-adjust the previous report of natural gas pricees already predicted to be 20% higher than last year.  LOL OMG WTF!  Blame in on the Rain….

Energy Prices

Oil closed at an all-time high of $67.49 today.  Finally the media is accepting the fact the higher energy prices are pushing prices up.  Here comes inflation.  Since oil closed today, tropical storm Katrina has been upgraded to a hurricane, prompting BP and Shell to evacuate their employess from the region.  There is also a fire at a refinery in California.  This news is sure to spike oil even higher.  On a side note, with natural gas’ 10% spike in the last 2 days, Analysts predict the average natural gas bill this winter will be 20% higher than last years high prices, and heating oil will be on average 19% higher than last year.
